Xosé A. Touriñán’s career on screen and on stage

Xosé A. Touriñán has built a diverse and solid career in audiovisual and performing arts in Galicia over more than two decades. He began in comedy with the duo Os dous de sempre in 2002 and, in 2005, rose to major popularity on Televisión de Galicia with Cantareiras de Ardebullo on the program Luar. Since then, he has taken part in series and shows such as Padre Casares, Land Rober, Tourilandia, Era Visto! and Catro Gatos.

He has brought to life characters such as Sabonis in Cuñados and +Cuñados, Jose in Amigos hasta la muerte, and Manuel Fraga in the series La Canción (2025). He has also played various roles in series such as Fariña, Pequeñas coincidencias, El desorden que dejas, Sin límites, Atasco, Clanes, and more recently in Na Gloria and the film Rondallas (2026).

In theatre, he stood out with the success of Somos Criminais (2018), Somos Criminais 3 (2021–2023), and Somos Criminais e punto final (2024–2025), alongside Carlos Blanco, attracting more than 125,000 spectators in Galician theatres.

Among his recent projects are also Corentena and Corentena · Game Over, the first video game–performance, a proposal full of challenges, unexpected characters, and strange beings. In addition, his most personal monologue, Aquí Tou!, continued touring across the country and is now beginning its national run, offering a humorous and close reflection on the key moments of his life journey.

He has also played a key role as producer and actor in projects such as Fariña (2019) and Recortes, caneos e outras formas de driblar (2022).

As a director, he premiered the short film Nena (2022), a story shot with the collaboration of friends and family, which has already accumulated more than 50 awards and selections at national and international film festivals.

In the field of production, Touriñán has championed support for children’s creation and Galician tradition. He served as executive producer of Bibopalula, both the series for Xabarín.gal and its stage version, as well as To the rhythm of the new regueifa, a documentary that travels across Galicia collecting testimonies on the generational handover of the regueifa tradition.

He is also the director of Castelo Conta, a festival held every summer in his home village, Castelo, combining comedy, music, oral tradition, and rural culture, and established as a key event in Galicia’s cultural calendar.

He is currently touring the second season of Amoriños alongside David Perdomo, a dating-themed show full of chaotic encounters that explores the most universal -and also the most dangerous- feeling: love.
